Are Bristolians the best drivers in the country?

Bristolians could be the best drivers as new figures reveal more of the city's learners pass their test the first time than anywhere else in the country.

On the 80th anniversary of the UK Driving Test, it has been revealed that the city's drivers most feared doing a reverse parallel park in the exam.

One in four of us think that we would fail if we had to re-sit the driving test.

The survey, carried out by car buying company Zuto, showed on average people from Bristol took 1.8 attempts to pass their driving test – in comparison to a national average of 1.9.

Around five per cent said they had to take more than five tests to pass.

James Wilkinson, chief executive officer of Zuto said: "Passing your test and buying your first car is a milestone for every driver and as the research has shown, can be an extremely stressful process.

"While we can't be there to hold your hand during the test, we are certainly on hand when it comes to picking that all important first car."
